Dear Kyle,
Never again will your life be so carefree. Tomorrow you enter the great institution of Public Education. I hope that you will do well in Kindergarten and the rest of your life. I will always cherish our time together "hanging out". You have been a good friend to me these past five and a half years. I will miss your playful company and our shopping trips. From now on I hope you will not just see me as the mean mommy who makes you do homework, or the job patrol. I hope that you will not lose your carefree spirit to the walls of education. Please stay playful and jubilant. I will try to take you fun places on your days off, and when you finish your homework I will always give you a T.V. ticket so you can play Indiana Jones. I will also promise to worry about you everyday while you are away. I hope you will remember to be kind and listen to the teacher. Don't get your friends in trouble, or yourself. Be brave and believe that you can do anything and everything. And that no matter what you can always call home, and I will come and get you.
Love, mom
