Yard Duty
I really like my job. Even though I am quitting next week to substitute teach. So here is what happened today. There is a new little boy at our school. He came to the line today to choose a lunch, yogurt, grilled cheese (in a packaged bag), or a chicken patty sandwich. The little guy touched the grilled cheese tray, so the other yard duty, we'll call her #1, forcefully told him he had to take it. Even though he barely touched the tray and the grilled cheese in in a protective bag. He insisted that he did not like it and would not eat it. The yard duty said she didn't care and that he had to take it, and could get something else off the cart. I step in, as she was in his face and he was backed up against the milk cooler and stuck with a lunch he was not going to eat. I should tell you that I help the kids after they get the milk, to get some salad, or fruit and a dessert off the "cart". So I told little boy I would help him get some salad and fruit and he can just eat that. Which I did. He took his food and went and sat down. The kids eat for about 20 minutes and then we let them out for recess. So as we started to let kids go to recess, I was walking by the little guy with the sandwich, the sandwich bag had not been opened, so I opened it and encouraged him to take a bite. He wouldn't, and then another lunch supervisor came by and said that yard duty #1 wanted that sandwich, that I had just opened. I just looked at him and said she doesn't need it. So I went out to recess with the kids and yard duty #1 and another yard duty will call her #4. So after the kids go in we go back to the lunch room with the 3rd through 5Th grade kids. As we walk in yard duty #1 goes to yard duty #2, she puts out her hand for the sandwich. He says I don't have it. He then proceeds to tell her what I said. Which okay whatever, she needs to know that it is unacceptable behavior. She was mad though. She did not say anything else to me, the rest of the day. Maybe this doesn't sound like a funny story. So if you have read this, this is the sad tale of the life of a noontime yard duty. But if you want it to be funny you should call me because I can make it sound funny on the phone. By the way, I told the Principal after work. He was a little shocked. But was he shocked at the situation or that one yard duty would tell on the other? HMMMMM What do you think?

New Callings...
When I was a kid, a boy use to make fun of me. He made fun of something that I had no control over and was especially hurtful. So now I always use something of a Buddhist theology, that is something like this, whatever you make fun of will happen to you or your children. So I try not to make fun of people, especially of the things they cannot control. So I know that when I lived in Utah I complained about a lot of things. Okay, Jenn and Mandi, you don't need to list all the things I complained about. But that karma thing, well, maybe the Buddhists have something on me.
I was called to be in the Primary Presidency, as the 2nd counselor. And Dave, well, he got a huge calling, it wasn't the one I had a crazy dream over, so that is good. But lets just say he will be busy, very busy, as the Young Mens President. I have not served in the Primary for at least 8 or 9 years. I have served as the Nursery leader, and the Music leader; but it was at the same time that I served as a Seminary teacher. But before that, the time I served in Primary was when I was single,(in 1992) I was a teacher in the Primary in Colorado. But I have otherwise always been in Young Women, Relief Society, or a Sunday School Teacher for teenagers. So needless to say I am feeling very uncertain and nervous for this calling. But I am sure it will be okay. Dave will make a great Young Mens President, He has always served as a missionary or in the Scouting or Young Mens program. So I think he will have alot to do and will be very busy with lots of meetings and activities.
The kids are happy just doing their thing, hopefully they will be able to help us when we both have meetings at the same time, and they will have to get ready for church without us bothering them to get their shoes. Lets just say we will be saying alot of extra prays for awhile.
Hope that this post finds those reading it well. I have not heard from some of you that I miss in so much in Utah. Can't wait to see the snow, when we make a trip back sometime this fall or winter.

Dreams
I have a question? Not that many people read this blog but anyway I may get a comment or two. What do you think about dreams, the kind you have when you are sleeping. Why do really crazy dreams wake you up straight out of bed? Just wondering.
I had a crazy dream that woke me straight up. Then I was trying to decide, is this a sign to get something in order or is it just plain crazy. To crazy of a dream to give the details. Lets hear about your dreams.
